2 cups

Früt frozen cherries (kept frozen)

1/4 cup

Früt cherry juice concentrate

1 packet

Sponge cake or ladyfingers (cut into pieces)

1 cup

Heavy cream

1 cup

Vanilla pudding (store-bought or homemade)

1 tbsp

Powdered sugar

1/2 tsp

Vanilla extract

1/2 cup

Water

Optional

Fresh mint leaves or chocolate shavings for garnish

Method:

Step 1:

Prepare the Cherry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the cherry juice concentrate and water. Warm over low heat until well blended. Allow to cool.

Step 2:

Whip the Cream: In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Set aside.

Step 3:

Layer the Trifle: In a trifle dish or individual serving cups, start with a layer of sponge cake or ladyfingers at the bottom. Drizzle a bit of the prepared cherry syrup over the cake to moisten it.

Step 4:

Add Frozen Cherries: Scatter a generous layer of frozen cherries over the cake. The cold cherries will slowly thaw as the trifle sets, adding a refreshing, icy texture.

Step 5:

Add Pudding: Spoon a layer of vanilla pudding over the cherries. Spread it evenly.

Step 6:

Top with Whipped Cream: Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the pudding.

Step 7:

Repeat Layers: Continue layering the sponge cake, cherry syrup, frozen cherries, pudding, and whipped cream until you reach the top. Finish with a final layer of whipped cream.

Step 8:

Chill and Garnish: Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours (or overnight). This allows the cake to soak up the cherry syrup and the cherries to soften slightly while remaining cool and firm.
