Ingredients:

The Pie

2 cups

Früt frozen, sour cherries

1/2 cup

Granulated sugar

1/4 cup

Cornflour

1 tsp

Lemon juice

1/2 tsp

Vanilla extract

X1

Package of refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)

X1

Egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp

Coarse sugar (optional, for sprinkling)

Method:

Step 1:

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 160°C (320°F) for about 5 minutes.

Step 2:

Prepare the Filling:
In a medium saucepan, combine the frozen sour cherries, granulated sugar, and cornflour.


Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and bubbles. This should take about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3:

Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice and vanilla extract.

Let the filling cool slightly.

Step 4:

Prepare the Pie Crust:
Roll out one pie crust and place it in the bottom of a pie pan that fits in your air fryer basket.
Pour the cherry filling into the crust.

Step 5:

Prepare the Pie Crust:

Roll out the second pie crust and cut it into strips to place it over the filling in a criss-cross pattern. 

Trim any excess crust and crimp the edges to seal.

Step 6:

Egg Wash:
Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top crust.
Sprinkle coarse sugar on top, if desired.

Step 7:

Bake in the Air Fryer:
Carefully place the pie in the preheated air fryer.
Bake at 160°C (320°F) for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.


Check the pie halfway through, and cover the edges with foil if they start to brown too quickly.

Step 8:

Cool and Serve:
Allow the pie to cool in the air fryer for about 10 minutes before removing it.
Let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
