Baked Fig and Brie

Ingredients:

X4-6

Früt whole frozen figs, partially thawed

X1

Wheel of brie (about 250–300g)

2-3 tbsp

Honey

1 tbsp

Balsamic glaze or reduction (optional)

Optional

A handful of chopped pecans or walnuts

Garnish

Fresh rosemary or thyme

To Taste

Cracked black pepper

Crusty bread or crackers, to serve

Main ingredient:

Frozen Black Fig

Method:

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 180°C (fan 160°C).

Step 2:

Prep the figs: Let the frozen figs sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes so they’re soft enough to halve, but still hold their shape.

Step 3:

Assemble: Place the brie wheel in a small ovenproof dish or on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Top with the halved figs, a drizzle of honey, cracked pepper, and chopped nuts (if using).

Step 4:

Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the brie is gooey and the figs are warmed through and starting to caramelise.

Step 5:

Garnish & serve: Drizzle with balsamic glaze and scatter fresh herbs over the top. Serve immediately with warm bread, crackers or crostini.
